Understanding the Book of Daniel

There are so many different views on the Book of Daniel, Some say it is all accomplished others say it is yet to be fulfilled . So who has understanding, who does not. Let's take a look at Daniel and see just what the Truth is.

We need to look at the book of Daniel as a whole. The Book of Daniel is about what was going to happen from the Time of the King’s Dream in Daniel 2: to the Time of the 1,000 years of Peace. It is a series of dreams in which Daniel himself becomes ever more horrified and confused. It culminates in Chapter 12 with the Angel telling him to go his way because he would never understand but know your place at the wedding feast is assured. We should understand who is giving Daniel these prophecies. It is Jesus. As we have seen above only Jesus can open the scrolls and reveal the future. Daniel says the following in chapter 10

16And behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips; then I opened my mouth and spoke. I said to him who stood before me, "O my lord, by reason of the vision pains have come upon me, and I retain no strength. 17How can my lord's servant talk with my lord? For now no strength remains in me, and no breath is left in me." 18Again one having the appearance of a man touched me and strengthened me. 19And he said, "O man greatly beloved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage." And when he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, "Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me."

Did you catch it? Daniel is calling the messenger "My Lord" in verse 16,17 & 19 and in verse 19 the messenger even says Jesus' trade mark phrase "Peace be with you" This is clearly Jesus. Understanding this fact will help us understand Daniel, as Jesus tells us the future in plain language in Matthew 24.

You see to Daniel in his Time Media Persia was a very powerful Empire that he knew so Breast of Silver or The Bear of Daniel 7:  the Second Kingdom to rule the land was no mystery to him.

The Third Beast from chapter 7: was a mystery though. Daniel wanted to know who the Leopard was with four heads. As Was the fourth Kingdom The legs of Iron or the Fourth Beast.

Chapter 8: is the Answer to his question about the Leopard  ……………but poor Daniel ……….it seems the answer only served to scare him and mystify him even more. He ends the Chapter with

[27] And I, Daniel, was overcome and lay sick for some days; then I rose and went about the king's business; but I was appalled by the vision and did not understand it.

So Now Daniel asks another Question because he still does not understand. He wants to know when Messiah will be Born and what will be the end of  Jerusalem's desolations and punishment…………. as the 70 Years of the prophecy of Jeremiah was almost over. He wanted to know what every Jewish person wanted to know. When would the promise to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob be fulfilled the promise to The house of Judah and the House of Jacob or Joseph.

Jer 33:24: Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off?  thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them. 25: Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; 26: Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob:

So Daniel gets the prophecy of the 70 weeks of years or 490 years. This is chapter 9:

Well once again Daniel is just further confused he needs details of this 490 Years until the Promise is fulfilled. We read in Chapter 10 Daniel once again asking for understanding, Praying and Fasting for many days. He is still confounded by the visions he had.

Dan 10: 8: Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

The Answer to Daniel's Question is Chapter 11 and 12: in Chapter 11: Daniel is given very specific events that span from the time through to the Saints on to Constantine and then on to the Time of the end.

Daniel 11 is the most amazing prophecy…………It has been fulfilled to verse 40.with such accuracy it is it boggles the mind.

Chapter 12 is a continuation of Chapter 11 in which Daniel is told of all the time frames that would be in play.

1.        1260 years of Satan trampling the saints and the truth speaking against God and Heaven.

2.        Undetermined Time of the power of the Holy People.

3.        1290 days

4.      45 Days.

Daniel Still does not get it and is told NO ONE would understand until the last days.

4: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

And so ends the book of Daniel.

Since we are in the time of the end when knowledge has increased greatly and people travel to and fro, let’s go back and listen to each of the explanations Daniel was given starting with Chapter 2: and see if we can understand.

31: Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image.  This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. 32: This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, 33: His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. 34: Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.35: Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. 36: This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. Here is the Statue the King had seen in his dream37: Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.38: And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all.  Thou art this head of gold. Here we are told that Babylon is the first Kingdom to rule the world as it is known to theses people. 39: And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. Here we are told that there will be yet two other kingdoms that rule the Earth. 40: And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. Next we are told that there will be a fourth Kingdom of Iron represented by the two legs of iron. However the feet and Toes are not made of Iron but are made of a mix of Clay and iron some times strong sometimes weak. 41: And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.42: And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. We are then told that this Kingdom will seek to hold itself together through Marriages. Yet this will be to no avail. [43] As you saw the iron mixed with miry clay, so they will mix with one another in marriage, but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay. Next we are told that in the days of the ten Toes of this kingdom Jesus will come from heaven and destroy this final World kingdom and all the Kingdoms 0of earth will be gone and the 1,000 years peace will begin. 44: And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Daniel then goes on to tell the King this is the Truth of God’s Word and can be Trusted.

45: Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

So to recap we are told

  1. There will be four Kingdoms to rule the World Starting with Babylon of Daniel’s time.
  2. That the Fourth Kingdom will start of with Strength shown by the two Iron Legs.
  3. That it will deteriorate into Weaker Kingdoms of Iron and Clay.
  4. That they will try and hold the Kingdom together with Marriages but will fail.
  5. That in the days of the Last Ten Kings bound in this Empire Jesus will set up his Kingdom on Earth.

This is the WHOLE COURSE OF EVENTS to add to this course of events or take away from it is to change the Word of God.

Now Daniel is very curious he wants to know more he prays to God for his guidance and to forgive his and his people’s sins.

Daniel through a series of Trials (chapters 3,4,5, and 6 Proves His Faith With Works Of Faith for Faith is dead without works.

God now gives Daniel a dream to try and help answer all of his Questions about the King’s dream in Chapter 2:

Who is this fourth Kingdom of iron and when will God set up his Kingdom.

Daniel 7:

2: Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 3: And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. 4: The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. 5: And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. 6: After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. 7: After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. 8: I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. 9: I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool:his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.10: A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.11: I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.12: As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.13: I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.14: And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.15: I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. 16: I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this.  So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. 17: These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. 18: But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

Ok So there is the Dream….Hey I have an Idea let's just trust God and see what these things mean, because Daniel is told what they are the dreams are laid out for us by Jesus.

Here the Beast are defined even Further

[17] `These four great beasts are four kings who shall arise out of the earth. [18] But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, for ever and ever.'

  1. Beast is a Lion (Babylon circa 600 BC)
  2. Second beast or kingdom is Media as Daniel has been told in Chapter 5: (Medes and Persians Circa 538 BC)
  3. Third beast or Kingdom is a Leopard with Four heads (Not yet known to Daniel)
  4. Then the fourth Beast. (Not yet known to Daniel)

Now Daniel gets his chance to ask questions about the Fourth Beast.

19: Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; 20: And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. 21: I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22: Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

So that is Daniel's Question………… Let's see what the answer is.

23: Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

Well that is simple enough and it matches with what Daniel already knows there will be Four kingdoms to rule the World.

Here comes the more in depth answer to the feet of Iron and of Clay and the Ten Toes which has Daniel puzzled.

24: And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.25: And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. 26: But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. 27: And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

WHAT………………. DANIEL SAYS...................... Trample the Saints…………. Change the Times and laws (Ten Commandments) He is Horrified......... HOW CAN THIS BE?

28: Hitherto is the end of the matter.  As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

Well now Daniel is really confused, he is more then confused, he is appalled that all this will happen……..he wants to know how it will happen…..when it will happen.

He knows who the Second kingdom is it is The Medes and Persians but who is the third kingdom the Leopard with four wings or the Belly and Thighs of Brass of the Statue in Daniel 2:

That leads us to Chapter 8: Which is the answer to the Question of the Third and Fourth Beast.

3: Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.4: I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

Daniel is now told that The leopard………… or in this Dream the He Goat …………..will die and that four horns will come up in its place, this is also the four heads of the Leopard in Daniel 7:

5: And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. 6: And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had there seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. 7: And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.8: Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. 9: And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.10: And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. 11: Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. 12: And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.20: The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.  21: And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.22: Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.23: And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.24: And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.25: And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

We are told that out of the Four Horns or Kingdoms there will come another Kingdom that will wax great to the ends of the Earth and will Trample the Saints.

Daniel makes it clear that the third Kingdom …………… Becomes the Fourth Kingdom……………….. That out of the Third kingdom will grow the horn that becomes the Fourth Kingdom The Fourth Beast or Kingdom on the Earth in its final form we have been told it will be Ten Kingdoms joined as one.

These Four Horns are the Four Generals that divide up the Greek Kingdom at Alexander's Death in 323 BC. Two of these four Generals kingdoms become the King of The North and The king of The South in Daniel 11: It talks of Alexander the Great and his Conquests. It correctly states that his kingdom would be divided in four parts but not to his Heirs but to others. This in fact happened in 323BC when upon Alexander’s death his four generals divided up his conquests into the four Kingdoms. The Seleucid Kingdom to the north of Judea in Syria Turkey, and modern day Lebanon, the Ptolemaic Kingdom to the South in Egypt, the Pontus Kingdom at the Black Sea and the Antigonid Kingdom in Greece.

Well this does nothing to help Daniel understand in fact it just confuses him even more.

27: And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.

Not only did Daniel not understand he was totally lost.

How could this happen to his Holy City…………. and what of the Promise to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. That the Messiah would be born of the Tribe of Judah and the House of David.

So Daniel asks again what is the outcome of all this and what is the Future of the Holy City after the 70 Years of desolations are decreed as stated by the prophet Jeremiah. The Answer to this question is Daniel 9:

The book of Daniel makes very clear distinctions between end time prophecy and other prophecy. Here are all the references to the end days in the book of Daniel

Daniel 8:17, Daniel 8:19, Daniel11:27, Daniel 11:35, Daniel 11:40, Daniel 12:4 Daniel 12:9

Notice that the term end of times or end days or time of the end is not used once in Chapter 9. Why is that? Baptist and Pentecostal Christians, to name just a few, believe that the final week is a prophecy for end times. Why, if it is a prophecy for end times, does Daniel not say so, Daniel and Jesus repeatedly say it about other end time prophecies (ie: chapters 8 and 11,12).

It would seem that this prophecy does not deal with the end times. To say it does is to add your own meaning and understanding to Gods word. What about the abomination that causes desolation is it not in all four chapters of Daniel 8 - 9 - 11 - 12? Are they not the same Abomination? It would appear that they are the same abomination but a closer look reveals that they are not the same abominations.

To understand this we need to find a common point with Jesus' prophecy of Matthew 24: So that we are not guessing, we are displaying faith and believing what Jesus tells us.

First we will look at the abomination in Daniel 8. Jesus tells Gabriel to explain the prophecy to Daniel, Daniel is told in very distinct language that this prophecy is for the end days  "for it pertains to the appointed time of the end"

This is clearly the abomination that causes desolation spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 2.4 We are even told in Daniel 8:25 that this last king will fight Jesus and be destroyed by God.

We will now look at Daniel 11 verse 40 on. Daniel is given a starting point in this Prophecy and the prophecy runs in a continual time line through almost 2400 years of history. We will join at verse 40: here and cover the whole chapter further down in this paper

40:"At the time of the end the king of the south shall attack him; but the king of the north shall rush upon him like a whirlwind, with chariots and horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall come into countries and shall overflow and pass through.

Well as we can see this is the Time of the End. Notice in verse 32 is an abomination of desolation this is the abomination that would be that start of many abominations. That would lead to the end of the Prince Kings.

Now lets go back in time between verse 32 which I say is the Abomination of 168 BC. and the end times in verse 40.

Well, should we not find mention of Jesus and the saints in there some where?

[33] And those among the people who are wise shall make many understand, though they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plunder, for some days. (Christians where the only ones burned  the Romans did it so they could not be resurrected or so they thought). [34] When they fall, they shall receive a little help (Holy Spirit the helper). And many shall join themselves to them with flattery; (Jesus's first warning on the mount false teachers). [35] and some of those who are wise shall fall, (The Saints). to refine and to cleanse them and to make them white(Only the saints who have died in the name of Christ get white robes), until the time of the end, for it is yet for the time appointed.

HERE IS THE TIE IN TO MATT 24:

4: And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6: And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Here Jesus talks about the fall of Judea and the Temple but he tells them that the end is not yet

Now on to Daniel 9:

The most important thing to understand in Daniel 9: is what Daniel is asking for clarification on. Daniel, like every other Jew of the time, wanted to know if God was still going to fulfil his promise to David that Jesus would be born of the Jews. This was the Jewish share of God's covenant with Abraham. Just as the northern Kingdom of Israel had a punishment time allotted, so here do the Jews, 490 yrs.

24Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy One.

We are told that it will take 490 yrs. To finish the sin of the Jews "upon thy people" "to finish the transgression and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity". And to seal up and finish this prophecy. It looks like Jesus knew that people would try and stretch this prophecy to over 2500yrs. So he clearly states this prophecy ends in 490yrs.

We must remember he is writing in regards to Jeremiah's prophecy of seventy years, the chapter starts

2: In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolation of Jerusalem.

490 years to make an end of their sins to fulfil God's covenant with Abraham, and to reconcile them to God by Jesus  "and to anoint the most Holy One.

"This prophecy clearly states that the 490 years is a further punishment period of the Jews. In this prophecy at the end of 490 years Jesus arrives and this part of the covenant with Abraham is fulfilled. This abomination in these verses can not be the abomination that Jesus speaks of happening in the end times because this abomination happens during the 490 years., before Jesus arrives. Jesus comes at the end of the 490 years.

Here is the verse from the King James.

25: Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26: And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27: And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Now the Revised Standard

25 Know therefore and understand: from the time that the word went out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the time of an anointed prince, there shall be seven weeks; and for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with streets and moat, but in a troubled time. 26 After the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed. 27And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week; and for half of the week he shall cause sacrifice and offering to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator."

It is clear these two translations are very different. While the King James Version translated from the Vulgate clearly implies this prince is Jesus by putting the first seven weeks and 62 weeks together, the Revised says it is just a Anointed One and separates the first seven weeks and the 62 weeks. More over the Revised version says the anointed one will be cut off and have nothing, that is the Septuagint translation, the Hebrew texts translate, "cut off and have no one left". this certainly was not Jesus. So which translation is correct. As I said at the start we will use the Septuagint and Hebrew versions, as they predate the Catholics who changed many verses in the Vulgate as they have admitted, "to make their meaning clearer"

First we must look at a very large discrepancy in these dates. Jeremiah tells us the Jews would be held captive 70 years. Historians say Jerusalem fell first in 597BC then in 586 BC the Temple was destroyed. Well quick math will show you that 597 or 586 minus 70 years does not leave one at or 538 BC which is the historical date of Cyrus's edict to Rebuild Jerusalem.

In 608 BC Babylon invades Judea and extracts a tribute from Jerusalem. In the first three months of Jehoiachin reign in 598BC. he stops paying tribute to Babylon. This infuriates Nebuchadnezzars and he takes the Jehoiachin his Sons and all the Nobles of Judea. Captive to Babylon and carries off all the Treasures of the temple (2Kings24:10-15). 608 - 70 years captivity leaves us at 538BC. This would seem to agree with the Biblical account.

Early in Artaxerxes reign 7yr. 5th month Ezra arrives in Jerusalem sometime about 458BC not 398BC as Catholic history teaches

So first thing that is noticed is the 490 years. Is broken up into 49 years. 434 years. And 7 years. And that the end will result in Jesus' arrival and the destruction of Jerusalem. It also says that war will continue until the end of Jerusalem. It clearly says, that there will be more than one desolation of the Temple desolations are decreed"

It says an anointed one will come after 49 years. Who or what is an anointed one? All through Leviticus in at least six places by a quick count Priest are called anointed ones. In Kings, Saul is said to have been anointed by God, this is also true of other Kings including King Cyrus, Who Isaiah says is God's Anointed, and who Ezra clearly states fulfils Jeremiah's prophecy in the Bible. So it would appear that there are a few possible solutions it could be a Priest or a King or Cyrus.

It is important to understand that the rebuilt Judea had Priest Kings, not separate High Priest and Separate Kings as before the deportation. Either way this is clearly the coming of a ruler 49 years after the word goes forth to rebuild and restore Jerusalem 538BC that puts us at 489BC

Then for 434 years Jerusalem will be built but in a troubled time. After 434 years of rule, this ruling line, will be cut of and have nothing (no heir to the seat of authority). The total number of years since the order to rebuild is now 483 years. If you put Jesus as the Anointed One that is cut off then he was murdered 483 years after the order to rebuild Jerusalem which we know went out in around 538BC. Ezra clearly says it is Cyrus's edict that fulfils the words of Jeremiah. To say some other rulers like Artaxerxes I edict of 458BC is the start date is to call God and Ezra liars. 538BC - 483 yrs. puts us at about 55BC. How can this possibly be Jesus he wasn't even born yet. Further more Jesus was never cut off and had nothing.

It is also important to understand that the last week is to be added in to the 62 weeks. Unlike the first seven weeks, which are clearly defined, the last week is not defined. The whole prophecy ends at the end of verse 26. "and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed"  He then goes back in History to explain the first of many desolations of the Temple that will occur.

27And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week; and for half of the week he shall cause sacrifice and offering to cease and upon the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator."

Consider the phrasing he clearly end his thought at verse 26 and then verse 27 he speaks of this Prince who starts the desolation, he then continues on to the exact same end as in verse 26 he assumes the reader has read chapter 11.

Now lets look at History and Scripture and see what we get. 49 years after the word 538BC would put us at about 489BC.

Most Historians cannot agree on any of the dates involved. However scripture says this in Zechariah 6:

11: Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest; 12: And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: 13: Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

Here Joshua is named Priest King by God. Most historians believe this took place about 516BC. I am left wondering if this date of 516BC is not off by 27 years. Scripture says Joshua is the Priest King it also says in Daniel that he comes after 49 yrs from the edict, he must have arrived in about 489BC not 516BC unless the date of Cyrus's edict is wrong. I choose to believe Scriptural account and believe God's word rather that the confused historical account of this period. 538 - 49 = 489 ; 489 - 434 = 55 BC - 7years final week = 47BC

Antipater an Arab of Jewish faith, the Father of Herod the Great, became Governor of the Judea in 55BC he was a Arab not a Jew. His son would soon be named King of the Jews by Rome. and his Ascension to the thrown was the beginning of the end to the Priest Kings of the Second Temple Era. In 47 BC the Roman entered the Temple murdered all the Priest including the High Priest and wrapped up the 490 years. No high priest from then on would dare to defy Rome.

In fact Rome installed all the High Priests from 63BC on to 70 AD when Titus destroyed the Temple.. In 67 BC Pompey sided with Hyrcanus II for High Priest against Antigonus. Antigonus revolted and deposed Hyrcanus II Pompey Attacked Jerusalem Killing all the Priests in the Temple and desecrating the Temple by and entering the Holy of Holies.

The final week, , is divided into two halves, which almost all Christian Churches say is Jesus' ministry on Earth and that Jesus is the Prince cut off in the middle of the week. He already was here and taught for three and a half years. They then say this Prince changes identity and turns on the temple for the last 3.5 years. I guess he will also trample the saints for 3.5years.

This is not Jesus, this is one of the Kings of the North of Daniel 11. This week is the seven-year Maccabean war from 167 to 160BC.

This was the start of War and Many Desolations of the Temple, which Daniel is told, will continue until the end of Jerusalem. Here are the dates of the desolation’s 167BC, 162 BC, 63BC, 47BC, 27BC down to 17 AD is the longest as pictures or plaques of Augustus where set up in every wall of the wing of the Temple and upon the wing of abominations. Tiberius pictures or busts replaced Augustus and were there when Jesus taught in the temple about 26AD.Jerusalem's end coming with a Flood.

Which also matches with Jesus words in Rev 12:

15: And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

THIS IS THE TRUTH OF DANIEL 9:

If you combine the 62 weeks and the 7 weeks and say Jesus is the anointed on that is cut off you are saying that Jesus was cut off in 55BC which is 483 years after Cyrus's Decree. It makes no sense at all, no matter which translation you use. While I admit it is tempting to move this last week to be the final week of tribulation, the prophecy, the question being asked, and its answer, make it clear that this is not the case. In fact the Great tribulation the time of Jacobs trouble only last for 1335 days not seven years.

So did the vision of Daniel 9; help him understand ……No it did not he is still confused and appalled.

So he prays again and is told in Daniel 10: that he has been heard His answer comes as Daniel 11 & 12.

Daniel 10:[11] And he said to me, "O Daniel, man greatly beloved, give heed to the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for now I have been sent to you." While he was speaking this word to me, I stood up trembling. [12] Then he said to me, "Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your mind to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.

Daniel 11: then follows the two Kingdoms all the way to the return Of Jesus and the Saints. Daniel is given a starting point in this Prophecy and the prophecy runs in a continual time line through almost 2400 years of history.

The first few verses deal with the last Kings of the Persian Empire and in particular with Artaxerxes III who invaded Greece in 334BC

2"And now I will show you the truth. Behold, three more kings shall arise in Persia; and a fourth shall be far richer than all of them; and when he has become strong through his riches, he shall stir up all against the kingdom of Greece.

Next it talks of Alexander the Great and his Conquests. It correctly states that his kingdom would be divided in four parts but not to his Heirs but to others. This in fact happened in 323BC when upon Alexander’s death his four generals divided up his conquests into the four Kingdoms. That of Seleucid Kingdom to the north of Judea in Syria Turkey, and modern day Lebanon, the Ptolemaic Kingdom to the South in Egypt, the Pontus Kingdom at the Black Sea and the Antigonid Kingdom in Greece.

3Then a mighty king shall arise, who shall rule with great dominion and do according to his will. 4And when he has arisen, his kingdom shall be broken and divided toward the four winds of heaven, but not to his posterity, nor according to the dominion with which he ruled; for his kingdom shall be plucked up and go to others besides these.

Now the prophecy concentrates on the King of the North the Seleucids and the King of the South the Ptolemies. Next we are told that while Ptolemy III (King of the South) will be stronger than his predecessor.

5"Then the king of the south shall be strong, but one of his princes shall be stronger than he and his dominion shall be a great dominion.

Next this amazing prophecy continues through time, to the arranged marriage of Princes Bernice of the Ptolemies Empire to the King of the North. However as we are told this marriage will fail and she her son and her entourage will be murdered. In 284BC when Ptolemy II died Antiochus Theos the Seleucid King reneged on the treaty with Ptolemy II. And murdered all the above. It also states that Antiochus Theos would die over this affair.

6After some years they shall make an alliance, and the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north to make peace; but she shall not retain the strength of her arm, and he and his offspring shall not endure; but she shall be given up, and her attendants, her child, and he who got possession of her.

The prophecy then goes on to describe who would do the killing of Antiochus Theos the Northern King. It would be Bernice's brother (Ptolemy Euergetes) who invades the north to avenge his sisters death. He captures the Kingdom of the North and kills Antiochus Theos. He also carries away a vast treasure of Gold and Religious artefacts.

7"In those times a branch from her roots shall arise in his place; he shall come against the army and enter the fortress of the king of the north, and he shall deal with them and shall prevail. 8He shall also carry off to Egypt their gods with their molten images and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and for some years he shall refrain from attacking the king of the north.

Next we are told about, the King of the North Seleucus Calinicus, Who In 240BC invades Egypt, but he is defeated and returns home.

9Then the latter shall come into the realm of the king of the south but shall return into his own land.

Now we move down through this continual time line. The sons of Seleucus Calinicus, Seleucus III and Antiochus the Great. Antiochus who with a large force invades Egypt all the way to Ptolemy IV Palace at Giza(King of the South). That was enough for Ptolemy IV he rose up and defeated Antiochus the Great's superior army in 217BC. We are told that even though he wins this battle, in the end he will be destroyed.

10"His sons shall wage war and assemble a multitude of great forces, which shall come on and overflow and pass through, and again shall carry the war as far as his fortress. 11Then the king of the south, moved with anger, shall come out and fight with the king of the north; and he shall raise a great multitude, but it shall be given into his hand.12And when the multitude is taken, his heart shall be exalted, and he shall cast down tens of thousands, but he shall not prevail.

After 14 years he returns with an even larger Army Antiochus the Great takes the city fortress of Tyre. Ptolemy V had not been a good King and many Jews as well as others joined Antiochus the Great and he wins victories all the way into Egypt but fails to take the whole Ptolemic Kingdom, which also includes Ethiopia.

13For the king of the north shall again raise a multitude, greater than the former; and after some years he shall come on with a great army and abundant supplies. 14"In those times many shall rise against the king of the south; and the men of violence among your own people shall lift themselves up in order to fulfil the vision; but they shall fail. 15Then the king of the north shall come and throw up siegeworks, and take a well-fortified city. And the forces of the south shall not stand, or even his picked troops, for there shall be no strength to stand. 16But he who comes against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him; and he shall stand in the glorious land, and all of it shall be in his power.

Wanting to control all of Egypt Antiochus the Great makes a marriage pact and Ptolemy V marries his daughter Cleopatra I who is only a child and is accompanied by the women who attend her (mother and grandmother). However this plan fails when his own daughter betrays him.

17He shall set his face to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, and he shall bring terms of peace and perform them. He shall give him the daughter of women to destroy the kingdom; but it shall not stand or be to his advantage.

He then turns and Attacks the coastal ports of the Romans and the Cyprians. This brings Rome down on him and the Roman commander Scipio defeats him in 190BC at Magnesia. He loses most of his kingdom to Rome through this blunder. He returns home still hungry for more treasure and is killed while trying to plunder the temple fortress of Belus in Elymais in 187BC. These defeats spell the end of the Seleucids Kingdom and make way for the Parthian Empire in Babylon.

18Afterward he shall turn his face to the coastlands, and shall take many of them; but a commander shall put an end to his insolence; indeed he shall turn his insolence back upon him. 19Then he shall turn his face back toward the fortresses of his own land; but he shall stumble and fall, and shall not be found.

I would like to point out at this time that we have now moved through 17 verses and over 300 years of history. The various players over the years are only refereed to as the King of the North and the King of the South even though we have moved through several kings. This fast pace and the continual time line is common in all of Daniel’s Prophecies. Keeping this in mind will be important latter in the Prophecy. Lets continue.

With his Father dead the Seleucids armies defeated and the treasury empty Antiochus the Great's son Seleucus sent out tax collectors through out the land, he even tried to loot the Temple in Jerusalem but riots changed his mind.

20"Then shall arise in his place one who shall send an exacter of tribute through the glory of the kingdom; but within a few days he shall be broken, neither in anger nor in battle.

Antiochus. Epiphanes Was next on the throne although he was not the rightful Heir to the throne he talked his way to the throne. Rome insists that Antiochus Epiphanes the younger son of Antiochus III be replaced as hostage in Rome by Demetrius, the eldest son of Seleucus and his heir. Antiochus Epiphanes takes his time returning home and ends up in Athens where he (successfully) runs for election. Antiochus Epiphanes, on hearing of his brother Seleucus' murder, leaves Athens and sails for Pergamon. Then with Pergamese help he seizes power in Syria. The claim of Demetrius, the eldest son of Seleucus and still a hostage in Rome, is quietly forgotten. Epiphanies was the Brother of Cleopatra, She now ruled The Kingdom of the South as regent to her son Ptolemy Philometor who was the Prince of the covenant that had brought peace between the families of Antiochus the Great and Ptolemy V.

21In his place shall arise a contemptible person to whom royal majesty has not been given; he shall come in without warning and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

Antiochus Epiphanies the King of the North invades the King of the South and takes a large part of Egypt and captures the prince of the covenant between the King of the North and the King of the South. Cleopatra proclaims Ptolemy Euergetes, Philometor's brother as King and prepares to fight on. He had a very large army, but he did not win because of the treason of those who claimed to support him. Those who supported Ptolemy Euergetes and ate of his provisions were some of the ones who later deserted him leaving his army to be massacred. Antiochus Epiphanies does a deal with Ptolemy Philometor and leaves Egypt divided with Ptolemy Philometor ruling from Memphis. And Ptolemy Euergetes ruling from southern Egypt 170BC.

22Armies shall be utterly swept away before him and broken, and the prince of the covenant also. 23And from the time that an alliance is made with him he shall act deceitfully; and he shall become strong with a small people. 24Without warning he shall come into the richest parts of the province; and he shall do what neither his fathers nor his fathers' fathers have done, scattering among them plunder, spoil, and goods. He shall devise plans against strongholds, but only for a time. 25And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall wage war with an exceedingly great and mighty army; but he shall not stand, for plots shall be devised against him. 26Even those who eat his rich food shall be his undoing; his army shall be swept away, and many shall fall down slain.

The two Ptolemy brothers however agree to rule jointly. Ptolemy Philometor does this in violation of his agreement with Antiochus Epiphanies. Antiochus Epiphanies had made a pact to take Jerusalem with Ptolemy Philometor. Both Kings plan to attack the other when the time is right.

27And as for the two kings, their minds shall be bent on mischief; they shall speak lies at the same table, but to no avail; for the end is yet to be at the time appointed. 28And he shall return to his land with great substance, but his heart shall be set against the holy covenant. And he shall work his will, and return to his own land.

Antiochus Epiphanies now carries out his plan to re invade, however the Ptolemy Brothers have gone to Rome for help a fleet sails from Rome, when Antiochus Epiphanies hears of the fleets arrival in Alexandria he goes to pay tribute to his Masters. He is presented with an ultimatum from the Romans and he abandons his plans for Egypt and turns on the Jews.

29At the time appointed he shall return and come into the south; but it shall not be this time as it was before. 30For ships of Kittim shall come against him, and he shall be afraid and withdraw,

This piece below was pasted from a Jewish historical site

Antiochus Epiphanies also needed money badly. Jason, the high priest's brother, made the king a proposal he couldn't refuse. He offered to pay to be appointed high priest, plus an additional sum "if he were given the authority to set up a gymnasium and a training place for the youth and to enrol the people of Jerusalem as citizens of Antioch." Antiochus granted his request, breaking several time-honoured practices: (a new high priest took office only when his predecessor died) Moreover, Jerusalem was now to follow the course of many other cities; its distinctive Jewish character would be replaced with Hellenistic culture. It is unclear whether Jason's request for citizenship of Antioch was a request to grant Greek citizenship to a select group of Hellenistic Jews in Jerusalem, or perhaps to establish all of Jerusalem a Greek pholis. The gymnasium was not only for athletics. It housed the library and served as a cultural centre. Jason built the gymnasium at the northern edge of the Temple, next to HaBirah Fortress. The priests began to neglect the sacrifices, preferring to take part in the exercises at the wrestling school (II Maccabees 3:7-17). Jason, considered by scholars a moderate Hellenizer, held office as high priest for three years. Jason sent Menelaus, a priest of the Balga family, to pay off Antiochus IV in 171 B.C.E. When he arrived, Menelaus offered to pay an additional 300 talents if he were appointed high priest (II Maccabees 3:23). Antiochus obliged, replacing Jason with Menelaus, a radical Hellenist. Jason fled Jerusalem and Menelaus intensified efforts to Hellenize Jerusalem. In 168 B.C.E. a false rumour spread that Antiochus IV had been killed in Egypt. Jason gathered a force of 1,000 soldiers and took Jerusalem, igniting a civil war. Menelaus took refuge with the Hellenist garrison in HaBirah Fortress. Antiochus Epiphanies stormed Jerusalem, massacred many Jews, plundered the Temple and reinstated Menelaus. Within a year Antiochus's forces again massacred a large number of Jewish residents, plundering and destroying part of Jerusalem. Apparently all the Jews still alive fled the city. The Temple was ritually polluted and abandoned. The Hellenists built a stronghold called the Acra (Greek for fortress or high place) on the Ophel, at the southern end of the Temple Mount where Solomon's palace had been. For the first time, foreign Hellenists, from Cyprus or Syria, were relocated to Jerusalem. They lived in the Acra together with the Hellenistic Jews and the military garrison, where archaeologists found remains of hundreds of jugs of imported wine from Rhodes. It is not clear whether the other, Antiochus Epiphanies's unprecedented decrees compelling all Jews to abandon Judaism or die precipitated the Maccabean revolt, or whether the revolt precipitated the decrees; but fighting broke out in 167 B.C.E. After three years of war against the Syrian army and aristocratic Hellenistic Jews, Jerusalem's common people were able to return home. Entering the Temple Mount, they "found the sanctuary desolated and the altar polluted, the doors burned and weeds growing in the courts" (I Maccabees 4:38). The Jews cleaned and rededicated the Temple (in Hebrew the word Hanukah means dedication). But the war was far from over. While the Jews were purifying the Temple they had to defend themselves against the Greek garrison still in place literally next door. Seleucids armies continued to invade Judea, and they re-conquered Jerusalem in 162 B.C.E Judah Maccabee was killed in battle two years later, and his brother Jonathan, who assumed the leadership, fled the country. Only in the year 152 B.C.E. was Jonathan able to return home. Though the city was capital of the Maccabean (Hasmonean) dominion for the next 89 years, many battles were still fought in Jerusalem. The Hellenistic garrison in the Acra was not subdued until 141. Jerusalem withstood a two-year siege 134-132 B.C.E. but had to tear down part of its walls in compliance with the armistice. He invades Judea 167BC kills tens of thousands of Jews, hauls thousands away as slaves, burns the city, and sets up a statue of Zeus in the Holy of Hollies and the temple was dedicated to Jupiter Olympius on December 25 167BC. This act desecrates the Temple and is only the first of many desolations to come over the next 130 years. During this period the Maccabees lead a revolt 167BC to 160 BC. They regain the Temple in 164 BC three years after it had been seized by Antiochus Epiphanies.

End historical piece

While some Christian historians try and stretch this date to fit the 3.5 years of Daniel 7, 12, the time frame does just not fit. In addition the Temple is desecrated again in 162BC and the Maccabees are driven out for 10 years. This hardly fulfils any of the prophecies of the 1260 days, or 1290 days, or 2300 evenings and mornings, or the 1335 days. While some would point to Daniel 12 and the Time, Times and Half a Time, a closer look will shows that, that desecration comes after the king who does as he pleases.

and shall turn back and be enraged and take action against the holy covenant. He shall turn back and give heed to those who forsake the holy covenant. 31Forces from him shall appear and profane the temple and fortress, and shall take away the continual burnt offering. And they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate.32He shall seduce with flattery those who violate the covenant;

The King of the North now changes to Rome as Pompeii takes Syria and turns it into a Roman Province 63BC. He also enters the Temple and the Holy of Holies and causes yet another desecration. He places Hyrcanus II s High Priest and Antipater an Arab (Father of Herod the Great) as Governor of Judea.. Over the next 130 yrs. Rome continues to use the Office of High Priest to seduce Priests to the office that will do as they ask by keeping the Roman insignia on the Temple Walls thus continuing the desolation and violating the covenant with God.

Next in the Time line is Jesus and his Disciples notice how these people fall by the flame. Being burnt is a common trait of martyred Christians. Beheading or crucifixion was the capital punishment of Rome no one was burnt but Christians.

33And those among the people who are wise shall make many understand, though they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plunder, for some days. 34When they fall, they shall receive a little help. And many shall join themselves to them with flattery; 35and some of those who are wise shall fall, to refine and to cleanse them and to make them white, until the time of the end, for it is yet for the time appointed.

Here is clearly depicted the Saints "to make them white" and the destruction of Jerusalem. We even have the tie in point to Jesus's prophecy of Matthew 24 for this must take place, but the end is not yet. "until the time of the end, for it is yet for the time appointed". This is a clear reference by Jesus through Gabriel to a common point in prophecy. The destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple 70 AD is not the second coming of Jesus.

It should also be noted that as of 30BC Egypt had fallen to the Romans and the King of the South was no more. The prophecy shows this to be true as it explains that the King of the North will do as he Pleases until the time of wrath is complete. Daniel does not mention the King of the South again until the time of the end. Verse 36 goes on to describe the Roman Emperors from the time of Jesus on through to the final Emperor who will be defeated in Judea by Jesus. These verses clearly put an end to any argument that this is one man(ie: The Anti-Christ)

36"And the king shall do according to his will; he shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak astonishing things against the God of gods. He shall prosper till the indignation is accomplished; for what is determined shall be done. 37He shall give no heed to the gods of his fathers, or to the one beloved by women; he shall not give heed to any other god, for he shall magnify himself above all.

If it is one man (i.e. the Anti Christ) than he must be schizophrenic first he worships himself above all Gods, but then instead of them he worships a God of Fortresses or Forces.

38He shall honour the god of fortresses instead of these a god whom his fathers did not know he shall honour with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts.

As we know this prophecy is moving through time at a fast pace, these seemingly confusing verses show the changing religious structure of Rome from 30AD to the second coming of Christ. First the Roman Emperors from Augustus to Constantine declare themselves to be Gods on Earth and demand that they alone are to be worshipped. They put themselves above the Gods of their Fathers(the Roman Gods Juno, Mars ect.) and pay no heed to the God of Women(the Nature or Wica Gods, Issis). Instead they demand that everyone worship them. All the martyrs of the Pagan Persecutions died for refusing to sacrifice, to and for the Emperor. In verse 38 we find ourselves in the period that Jesus describes in Matthew 24 and Revelation 6 the period between persecutions. With a major change to the Roman Religious system (King of the North) about to take place. We are told that the King of the North will change his God to the God of Fortresses, and that with the help of this new God he will attack and defeat the mightiest of Fortresses (ie: Rome). He will then distribute the land as a prize and greatly honour those who acknowledge his position and belief.

38He shall honour the god of fortresses instead of these a god whom his fathers did not know he shall honour with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts.39 He shall deal with the strongest fortresses by the help of a foreign god; those who acknowledge him he shall magnify with honour. He shall make them rulers over many and shall divide the land for a price.

While most Christian Scholars just pass right over these verses. I find myself asking, who is this God of Fortresses. I wonder why everyone else doesn't ask the same question. It would seem a vital clue to the whole puzzle. Here we can find out more about the False religious system of the Anti-Christ's Kingdom. It is of the utmost importance to understand who this false God of the Anti-Christ's Kingdom is. While it is apparent that this is a new God to the King of the North, Daniel knows exactly who this false God is, as did all the Israelites, the tribe of Judea and the Tribe of Ephraim.

So who is this God of Fortresses?

Allow me to introduce you to the God of Fortresses. This statue is from about1800BC from the city of Tyre. This is the False God mentioned in, Hosea, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, Daniel and Revelation. How do we know it is the God of Fortresses? Isaiah tells us who's false God will one day rule the world in Isaiah 23:, he tells us it will be the God of Tyre which is represented by this statue. This God Known as Baal(Father), The Goddess Astarte(Mother) and the half Father half Son God Melqart (Son). We also are told by the Prophets that the Final King of the North is the Anti Christ and he is destroyed by Jesus. Since we know for sure which God rules the Earth at the time of Jesus’ arrival, the God of Tyre, as told by Isaiah and Revelation, we know that the Anti-Christ initially worships this final religious system, we know that the Anti-Christ's religion is the God of Tyre. There can be no doubt about the meaning of these verses.

Isaiah 23: talks of the sins of Tyre and how their God described as She, the Prostitute the symbol of a Religious System (women in Rev 17) will sell her trade (false Religion)to the whole Earth. Notice it say she shall commit Fornication this was written in 740BC Tyre fell in 673BC this will be very important to remember later when look at Revelation 17: and the five Kings who have fallen, latter in this study.

15: And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as a harlot 16: Take a harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered. 17: And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.

In Revelation 17, we see this Harlot as she sits in total authority many years later. Just as Isaiah prophesied. Notice she now has committed fornication.

1Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who is seated upon many waters, 2with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and with the wine of whose fornication the dwellers on earth have become drunk."

It was believed that all three Gods where were part of a triune order or Trinity. Their names in the Bible are Baal (Osiris or Nimrod the Father God, God of War and Armies, King of Heaven), Ashtoreth ( Astarte, Ishtar or Isis or Semiramis the Queen of Heaven Goddess of War), and her son Tamuz (Melqart, Son of Light, the Reincarnated Father-Son God, Rider of Clouds, God of Soldiers; see Ezekiel 8:14). Who was murdered on Friday and rose from the dead. The worship of this Trinity God was the Reason God sent ancient Israel into exile in 718BC and Judea in 587BC. It then goes on to explain just how this King will Honour his new God with Gold and Jewels and costly Gifts.

38He shall honour the god of fortresses instead of these a god whom his fathers did not know he shall honour with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts. 39 He shall deal with the strongest fortress by the help of a foreign god; those who acknowledge him he shall magnify with honour. He shall make them rulers over many and shall divide the land for a prize.

The change in the King of the North(Rome) comes with Constantine who converts to the Catholic Faith in 312AD after having a vision where he claimed Jesus told him that if he attacked Rome with the help of the Catholic God he would win the battle. Over the next few years he becomes sole Emperor and builds massive Churches Filled with Gold an Jewels. The Church declares him to be the greatest man since Christ. Some Catholic Bishops State that he will rule in heaven with Jesus. He elevates the status of Bishops and declares the Bishops to be "God's on Earth" Removes them from the burden of paying Taxes. He makes the Bishops rulers over the Empire by agreeing to do what ever the majority of Bishops pass as Cannons. He gives away literally hundreds of thousand of acres of Imperial land to the Catholic Church. This new Religion of the Kings of the North (Roman Empire) will last until Christ second coming it will trample the Great Tribulation Saints and set up the Final abomination on the Temple Mount. There can be no doubt that these verses Identifies the Anti-Christ's Kingdom as a Trinity Religion. There can be no doubt as to the understanding of these verses. The God of the Phoenicians, who's capital was Tyre was a Trinity God. This Trinity God became the God of all the King of the world. It first became the God of the King of the North(Rome). From there it would spread out to the Whole World just as God had told Isaiah it would.

If you need further evidence that the False God of the Anti-Christ is a Trinity God consider

Revelation16:

13And I saw, issuing from the mouth of the dragon and from the mouth of the beast and from the mouth of the false prophet, three foul spirits like frogs; 14for they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty.

The problem people have with this simple Truth is it goes against all they have been taught their whole life. We must heed Jesus' words except the Truths as he has explained them to us in prophecy. However few will be able to take this first step, who wants to admit that they and 99% of Christianity are wrong about this issue. Everyone would much rather drink the sweet "Old Wine" than swallow the bitter "New Wine" That is why this obvious truth of this prophecy along with the archaeological evidence to back it up gets brushed away. There is not only the true Trinity, Satan is Clever there is false trinity. The God of the Anti Christ is the False Trinity God of War and Forces. He has deceived Christianity what you do and think about this deception says allot about your Christian character.

Are you just going to brush it away?

Let us continue with Daniel

Now comes the hard part, when is the time of the end? Some say it is today some say it was in Christ's time. Does Jesus tell us when the time of the end is? Well in Daniel 12 we are told that it will be when people travel to & fro and Knowledge has increased greatly. When did Knowledge increase greatly? Was it with Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, while all these men had a tremendous influence on Knowledge. It has been the last few generations that have brought man kind a hundred fold increase in knowledge. From sub atomic particles, to space travel, to genetics, man is now on the edge of controlling life in ways that no one even dreamed of 100 years ago. In the 19th century 95 % of people still lived as they had in centuries past, today 95% of people live with Knowledge that would have made them witches or Gods to our ancestors. It is clear that the last 100yrs fit this description we now travel to and fro with an ease that would have dazzled our ancestors of only 100 years ago. Knowledge has indeed increased greatly. Most would agree from 1900AD on counts as the time of the End. We now move forward in time some 1600 years, until there is a King of the South Again. Jesus clearly fills this gap in Matthew 24 and Revelation, I have shown this above and will further demonstrate this fact as we move back to Revelation after Daniel. One proof that this is the end times is Egypt became a country again in 1937, for the first time in almost 2000 years since the Death of Cleopatra II in 30 BC .

This part of the prophecy is for the future, this will be the time of great tribulation.

40"At the time of the end the king of the south shall attack him; but the king of the north shall rush upon him like a whirlwind, with chariots and horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall come into countries and shall overflow and pass through. 41He shall come into the glorious land. And tens of thousands shall fall, but these shall be delivered out of his hand: Edom and Moab and the main part of the Ammonites. 42He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43He shall become ruler of the treasures of gold and of silver, and all the precious things of Egypt; and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall follow in his train. 44But tidings from the east and the north shall alarm him, and he shall go forth with great fury to exterminate and utterly destroy many.

45And he shall pitch his palatial tents between the sea and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, with none to help him.

We are told that the King of the South (Egypt Arab Alliance) will Attack the King of the North (Holy Roman Empire) But the Holy Roman Empire will strike back and take Egypt with a great army and fleet of ships. The HRE will invade Egypt and take over Egypt killing ten of thousands of people. Egypt the King of the South will have many other countries with them when they invade the HRE. We are told that Edom, Moab and the main part of the Ammonites will escape. This is Jordan which will not join in the Arab attack on Europe and will not pay the price. We are also told that the Libyans and the Ethiopians will capitulate. It should be noted that the Jordanians, consider themselves as being of the tribe of Ishmael not Esau as are the rest of the Arabs such as Syria Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon etc.. We now move on to chapter 12 Here Daniel is given some idea of how long all this will be.

7The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven; and I heard him swear by him who lives for ever that it would be for a time, two times, and half a time; and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be accomplished. 10Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but those who are wise shall .11Blessed is he who waits and comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

We must take a little time here to understand what the daily sacrifice and the continual burnt offerings are. Daniel 8 and 12 Say that God's sacrifice is taken away. What is his sacrifice?

Many Christians Scholars teach that the Temple will be rebuilt and that the Jews will start up Animal sacrifice again. After 3.5 years the Anti-Christ will come and take away the sacrifice and the continual burnt offering. This belief does not take into consideration some basic truths of the verse. Burnt Sacrifice offerings in the Hebrew faith are done twice a day, morning and evening, they are not continual. Paul tells us what sacrifice is continual in Hebrews 13

15 Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. 16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

They also fail to consider what God considers his acceptable sacrifices.

Matthew 9:13 Go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."

Matthew 12: 7 And if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.

Mark12: 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

1Peter 2: 5 and like living stones be yourselves built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

So when it says that the Anti- Christ takes away God's Daily Sacrifice and continual burnt offering it means the daily prayers and deeds of the Saints not some animal being slaughtered on a alter. For it is the Prayers and deeds of the Saints that are acceptable sacrifices to God. In Revelation 8 we find further proof that the prayers of the Saints are what is sent up to God with the incense not an animal sacrifice Revelation 8:

4: And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

The periods of time are, a time, times, and a half a time. Notice days are not used in the first time frame but times. The days of these "prophetic times" also represent years just as the days of the weeks represent years in Daniel 9. The shattering of the power of the Holy People (the Israelites not the Jews), I will explain why the Jews are not Israelites with the Power that will be shattered latter, before we get back to Revelation,1290 days and then 45 days. What about the 2300 Evenings and Mornings of Daniel 8? These are sacrifice times which occur twice a day, every morning and evening so for 1150 days This1150 days represents the actual amount of time the burnt offering (Saints prayers and deeds) will cease. So the periods of time are, a time, times, and a half a time, or 1260 years. Then unspecified time frame of the power of the Holy People, then 1150 days which is part of the 1290 days, then 45 days.

The king of the South is the Egyptian Ethiopian Alliance the king of the North is the Ptolemaic Empire which is absorbed by Rome in About 140 BC.

In the Time of the End it is safe to say that the King of the North is the revised Roman Empire and the King of the South is the Arab Alliance.

So the periods of time are, a time, times, and a half a time, or 1260yrs. Then unspecified time frame of the power of the Holy People, then the 1290 days, then 45 days. The 1150 days is actual amount of time the Sacrifice (Prayers and Deeds of the Saints) stops and is part of the Great Tribulation and is during the 1290 days.

After the Time, Times and Half a Time or 1260yrs of total church control 554AD to 1814AD the Power of the Holly people will be established. After WW 3, which is the war with the Muslims, the war that will see all the house of Esau destroyed. A war in which the Anti Christ will destroy the armies surrounding Jerusalem with fire from the sky. The Anti Christ will look to relocate his Empire to the Holly Land, as the Catholics have been trying to do for 1500 yrs. He will establish his seat in Jerusalem, which he will rebuild. The 144,000 will be inspired by God to go to New Jerusalem, as the Anti Christ will call it, after Revelation 21. They will arrive as the corner stone is being laid. They will pronounce to the World that the man, that most of the World believes is Jesus returned, is in fact the Anti Christ. They will proclaim that there is only one true God and that Jesus is the only true corner stone. These 144,000 will be filled with the Holy Spirit like in days of old and they will pronounce many prophecies against the Beast and his Kingdom. Their testimony will continue for 1260 days. The Anti - Christ will put up with their prophecy, for a time, and when the 1260 days are over the Anti- Christ will rise up suddenly with great anger and murder the 144,000 and make war on the Two witnesses (Joseph -Common wealth protestant Western Europe and America and Judah) and defeat them. When this happens for 1150 days there will be no Sacrifice (Prayers and Deeds of the Saints) No saints on Earth continually praising God and doing his work. All that will be left alive on Earth will be The Orientals and the Catholic world, which includes. Italy, France, Poland Chez, Slovakia, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Austria, Sweden, Romania, Bosnia, Ukraine, Hungary, and all the other Little countries of East Europe also Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Cuba, and the rest of South American, Central American, and Caribbean nations. You can also add to the list the Philippine Islands and many people from every other Nation of the world such as Korea parts of Africa and Indonesia and even parts of the English speaking world such as Ireland, Quebec Canada. However the Truth will spread through out the World, and after the 1150 days the first of many will turn to God and be martyred. Inspired by the 144,000 at first they will stand up one by one and deny that the Anti Christ is Jesus returned. After a while they will die in the hundreds and thousands and millions. When the 1290 days are over the New Jerusalem will be dedicated.

This belief of the Anti Christ and his followers, that the New Jerusalem that they have built is the New Jerusalem of Rev 21 is the Abomination that cause desolation spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 24. The Actual length of time for the Great Tribulation or the Time of Jacob's trouble is 1335 days. 1290 days from the time the Sacrifice (Prayers and Deeds of the Saints) are taken away. That is from the time the 144,000 are murdered by the Anti -Christ until New Jerusalem is finished and dedicated. Then another 45 days until Jesus returns. During the 1290 days the Kings of the East will be preparing for war with the Anti Christ as they wish to gain control of the World. They will cross the Euphrates and meet the Anti Christ army in the valley at the foot of Mt. Megiddo 45 days after the dedication of New Jerusalem. So 45 days after the dedication of the New Jerusalem Jesus will return to Mount Olive in all his glory with the Armies of Heaven he will defeat the Anti- Christ (Azazel) and destroy the Armies of the World with a word from his mouth. He will establish truth and Justice on Earth. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the 1335 days.

When looking at Daniel's prophecy we must keep in mind the covenant with Abraham and keep a clear mind and the most important thing…….. that is…….. to let Gods word interpret itself. To Trust Jesus’ explanations and not to add to them or take away from them.
